Almost 800 people were affected by the onslaught of heavy rains in Panay Island this week, according to a consolidated report from theRegional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC-6).
While Tropical Storm “Maring” did not directly hit the Visayas, the weather disturbance brought heavy rains in Iloilo and Antique provinces.
Rosario Cabrera, regional director of Office of Civil Defense (OCD-6) and RDRRMC-6 chair, said Iloilo City had the most number of affected people.
Cabrera said 770 people were displaced in Brgys. Boulevard and San Juan in Molo district because of tidal surges.
