THIRTY-two evaluators will inspect Iloilo City’s preparations for two Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings in 2015, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT-6).
Atty. Helen Catalbas, DOT-6 director, said the inspectors will examine all parts of the city.
“That many, because they will inspect all the aspects of the city as a potential site,” Catalbas said.
The evaluators were supposed to arrive August 28 but it was postponed to another date to be determined by the APEC National Organizing Council (NOC).
“The reason for the postponement is that some members of the evaluation team are not available on August 28. The team cannot go if not complete,” she explained.
Iloilo City has been conditionally chosen to host the ministerial meeting on Transportation on October 8-10 and Food Security on October 15-17 all in 2015.
