Man nabbed for violating gun ban

NEIL Sacopia, 23, of Bucaya, San Joaquin, Iloilo was arrested at Brgy. Kauswagan, Valeria St. Iloilo City the other day for violating the election gun ban.

Sacopia’s bail bond is pegged at P12,000.  He is currently detained at the BJMP jail in Brgy. Ungka, Jaro, Iloilo City.

 

Fake mediamen arrested

MANUEL Celeste, 66, of North Baluarte, Molo and Rodolfo Golez, 39, of Brgy. Sto. Rosario-Duran were arrested for pretending to be affiliated with a community paper.

The two allegedly presented falsified documents to extort money from Gascon Pipe Bending and Steel Works at Brgy. Rizal Estanzuela, Iloilo City around 10:30 pm, Tuesday.

According to police reports, the two solicited an undisclosed amount of money for a “press conference” but failed to show an authorization letter from the outlet.

The two were placed under citizen’s arrest before they were turned over to the police. Recovered from their possession were seven original and 12 photocopies of publication contracts and a receipt stub.
